In the SWCA Intermediate T20 Cup R2 tie this afternoon, John Courtney led his ‘A’ XI to triumph over Maesteg Celtic at Celtic Welfare Park!
Taking first strike, JC’s Lads scored 136-4 from their 20 overs, with Sean Davies (15), Jaden Patel (21), Joe Phillips (40) and Jon Brearley (29) being the main contributors.
In reply, and as a result of excellent tight bowling by each of the six bowlers employed in the heat, our hosts finished 31 runs short..105-4! Rhys Davies (2-7), Tomos Williams (1-17) & George Lloyd (1-15) claimed the scalps.
The reward for the ‘A’XI is a home tie next Sunday (25th) when Bronwydd visit Marespool for the Quarter Final, 1pm start!
