Charity Support

Mumbles Cricket Club has always been committed to its wider role in the local community.

For many years now, our Club has worked closely with local charities and volunteer organisations to help them raise money for a wide variety of excellent causes.

Our Marespool ground and recently extended Clubhouse hosts numerous fund raising events for organisations, including in recent years the Mumbles Lifeboat, RNLI, Maggie’s Centre, India Monsoon Disaster Fund, Friends of Oystermouth Castle, other local sports clubs, Mumbles Lifeguards, Langland Lifeguards, Mumbles Community Council, Oystermouth School PTA, Newton School PTA, Llwynderw School PTA, Oakleigh House School PTA, Mayals School PTA and Grange School PTA.

Other events are hosted annually for a wide variety of local and national charities.

On the cricketing front, Mumbles Cricket continues to organise and host its annual Kwik Cricket Festival for local Junior schools, giving young boys and girls an early taste of cricket.

The Festival is in addition to the Club’s volunteers running the ECB Dynamos and All Stars programmes on Saturday mornings for up to 100 boys and girls from aged 5 – 9 and, of course, the 10 Junior League sides which will be playing throughout Season 2023.

Girls cricket has also been successfully introduced, with league cricket being played by our Under 11 & Under 13 age groups.

Finally, the Club also hosts meetings for several local residents’ associations and Community groups.
