1st XI seamer Ryan Aingworth and Junior Cricket Co-ordinator Steve Davies were on hand at Marespool yesterday (19th) for the first of 8 weekly sessions for those local youngsters who have signed up for the ECB All Stars initiative! Other Club volunteers working hard included Committee member & Junior Section Administrator Nikki Harris, hubby Chris and daughter Jess…top effort by them all!
All Stars Cricket is a brand-new initiative from the England and Wales Cricket Board aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket.
Programme features:
For all children aged five to eight –
- Delivered nationwide at over 1,800 centres, including our Club
- Eight one-hour sessions, held over eight weeks
- Emphasis on fun and being active
- Focus on developing the child’s movement skills
- Great first introduction to cricket
- Safe and fully accredited
- Mums and dads are encouraged to take part too!
- Every child that registered by yesterday’s deadline has received a backpack full of goodies including a cricket bat, ball, water bottle, personalised shirt and cap all sent straight to their door!
Some clubs have no entrants on the scheme so we are especially “chuffed” that so many have enrolled with MCC!
