Mumbles Cricket Club offers you a traditionally warm welcome to cricket at Marespool on the Gower Peninsula. Cricket has been played in the village for over 130 years and the Club was formally established in 1925.

In the last 80 years the Club has built a reputation for its commitment to quality senior and junior cricket and to its wider role in the community. 

Mumbles CC is renowned for its hospitality to every visitor who enjoys the 5-acre clifftop location, the friendly, family atmosphere and excellent playing and social facilities. The Club has made extensive improvements to the Clubhouse and Marespool Ground in recent years and plans further developments in the near future.

 

Every Saturday the Club's 1st & 2nd XIs compete in the First Division of the South Wales Cricket Association, whilst the 'A' X1 plays in the Alpha Fasteners West Wales Cricket Association 1st Division. During the week, the Club's six Junior teams play in the South Wales Junior League. Our Marespool Ground has staged several Minor Counties matches. 

Mumbles Cricket Club gained the prestigious ECB Clubmark accreditation in 2008. More information on ECB Clubmark is on our History and Development page and at www.ecb.co.uk

The privately owned and maintained ground has a 10-wicket square, an artificial wicket, an enclosed triple-net facility and a new electronic scorebox. The Clubhouse and large, adjoining marquee is fully licensed and shows Sky Sports on two screens.

Marespool is a very popular venue for private functions, parties and weddings. Mumbles Cricket is also proud to host and support the annual Macmillan Cancer Charity Gower Walk and the 20/20 Charity matches against The Ospreys and The Swans. In 2009, the Club's nominated charity for the Ospreys game was LATCH, the Welsh Children's Cancer Charity, to whom the Club donated £1,500. The Gower Walk and Ospreys events each attracted more than 1,000 people to Marespool.
