An emphatic performance at Marespool this afternoon (30th) saw Phil Roche’s ‘A’ XI reach the SWCA T20 Intermediate Cup Final for the second successive season!
Electing to bowl first, the Club restricted Gorseinon to 91-7 from their twenty overs…a very disciplined effort by each of our bowlers and fielders! Sam Harris (2-16), sixteen year olds Alex Davies (1-12) & Adam Lewis-Williams (1-10) plus 3 run outs were the evidence of that!
In reply, MCC had some work left to do when the board read 31-2 after six overs before eventually strolling to a more than convincing 8 wicket victory in the 17th over. Sixteen year old Sean Davies (16no, 2 fours) and fifteen year old Ben Lloyd (a very mature 51no, 3 fours) saw their side home without further alarm, and in some rare sunshine!
The Final will be played at Gorseinon next Sunday (6th) when our opponents will be Pontarddulais..start 11am.
