Sunday 22\/8 promises to be a unique day in the history of the Club’s Junior Section!<\/b><\/p>\n
Already through to the Les Sharp U13 Cup Final at Pontarddulais CC that day are our U13 XI (v Pontarddulais @ 10.30am).<\/b><\/p>\n
Well, this evening (10th) at Marespool, our gifted U17 side also came away comfortable semi-final victors, this time over Maesteg Celtic. As a result, our lads will be taking on Carmarthen Wanderers in the U17 League Cup Final at Pontarddulais on the same day, start 4.30pm!<\/b><\/p>\n
In this evening’s clash, MCC won the toss and batted first..129-5 from their 20 overs. Jaden Patel (51, 5 fours & a six) and Luke Edwards (36, 1 four & a six) made hay. A decent total but this was a semi-final which lesser sides do not reach..so, enough?<\/b><\/p>\n
Well, as it happens..yep! Celtic were never really in the hunt, as they finished 34 runs shy..95-5! All seven home bowlers gave little away, especially Joe Holland (0-14 from his four overs) and Alex Davies (2-12 from his four) in the middle of the innings. Further wickets for Gethin Morgan (1-3) and Mike Jarrett (1-18), plus a run out, reduced Celtic from 53-1 at one stage to 72-5..game over.<\/b><\/p>\n
Well done tonight, lads..thoroughly deserved!<\/b><\/p>\n
